Christmas Stocking Appeal

Our Christmas Stocking Appeal was a huge success for 2011, raising over £12,000!

The money raised by the Christmas Stocking Appeal bought a special wishlist of gifts that young patients wanted for their play rooms and therapy rooms.  Gifts given included portable DVD players, which will keep children who are too sick to go to the playrooms entertained and take their mind off their illness. A portion of the money raised by the Christmas Stocking Appeal will also go towards a gift the hospital really needs – a hydrotherapy pool! The hydrotherapy pool will cost £500,000 and will help the 500 children a year who currently miss out, receive treatment.

The Christmas Stocking Appeal came to an exciting finale in the days before Christmas, when Charlotte Church surprised children and staff as she joined Mr and Mrs Claus to hand out the gifts.

With carols playing and smiles beaming the Christmas Stocking Appeal brought all the joy we at the Noah’s Ark Appeal wished for to the Children’s Hospital for Wales at this festive time.

Charlotte was delighted to show her support for this important Christmas campaign saying; ‘As a mother, I can only imagine how difficult it must be to have your babies in hospital at all but especially at Christmas. The Christmas Stocking Appeal is a fantastic way for everyone to treat the children at the Children’s Hospital for Wales, not just for Christmas but for years to come.’

We’d like to thank everyone who supported the Christmas Stocking Appeal in 2011. From businesses, schools, groups and individuals you have all made a difference to Christmas at the Children’s Hospital forWales.
